[That flower That flower in that pot. There is absolutely no mistaking the green petals of a Lothal daisy - not for someone who saw them almost every single day for a good eight years of his life. Ezra stares at it with surprise etched clear across his face, then no small amount of budding delight that he does a poor job at trying to suppress.
Even poorer, because he can't resist picking the whole thing up, the little piece of home already responding to his presence with the flowers blooming a little bit wider. Qui-Gon, it's only going to be another minute before there's a breathless padawan seeking you out.
Yeah, he's pretty sure he knows who he can thank for a new plant in the house.]
While Obi-Wan tended to do his own thing, it was unusual for him to be gone all night. Especially not without prior notice. And yet that's precisely what happened. The Jedi not returning home until the next morning, and not in the best of shape either. The man came through the door and the first thing he did was sneeze. And not a small sneeze either. Rubbing his nose a bit and his forehead, he looks positively miserable.
Except something seemed to be a bit off. Instead of the usual dank atmosphere, mushrooms, and decay, things were different. The sunlight streaming in the windows seemed to be a bit brighter, and the colors a bit warmer.
Despite the fact that he was obviously getting sick he seemed... somewhat happy?
[more than figuring out who told Anakin about their relationship, the most presssing matter is ensuring that Anakin can't act on his threats to Bail. Sure, he might be passed out in a park somewhere for now (Leia left him, not bothering to move him anywhere), but he'd presumably wake up at some point. And Leia does not want to hope that perhaps he'll change his mind once he's conscious again. When dealing with Anakin, her gut instinct is to always err on the side of caution.
Which is why she's reaching out to Qui-Gon, because he's promised to help. And while she may always be skeptical of any meetups he proposes, on this she trusts him to keep his word.]
[ Galen has been thinking about the events of Selenium for a while now. Replaying the visions in the smoke he saw over and over. He wishes General Kota were here. He's not though. But his mind drifts to Jinn, there's something in him that reminds him a little bit of his mentor. And he was there, for the worst of the entire event. And hadn't mentioned it again.
He takes a deep breath and focuses on his crystal. It's now or never really, he can't keep waffling over this, or shoving it to the side any longer. ]
Master Jinn? Do you... do you have a moment or two?
[ There was a question Poe had and he could onlh go to a Jedi for it. He felt that Qui-Gon would be the best option on the end because of his previous actions towards events. He will be making a connection sometime in the early morning close to lunch time.
I apologize if I'm interrupting any meditation or morning routines you may have.
[ His voice is calm and steady but there may be a brief of anxious nerves within the connection. ]
I have a question and maybe you can offer some help. If someone were to be disrespectful to the Jedi teachings in some way or form, what is the best way to make up on that? Would a simple apology do or can there be more with it?
[ He doesn't want to offend any of them further. He's not even sure what Obi-Wan makes of him. But he knows Obi-Wan becomes a strong old Jedi. Strong enough to fight evil and create a story of hope. ]
For more insight, I will only know the heroic stories of the Jedi. To go along with that everything, I may know is just second hand knowledge and there might be things I don't really know. Not so much as the teachings and what everything else means to you and the rest of the Jedi.
Bright and early on the morning of the 7th of June, something will be different in the Jedi household. Someone having arranged, and paid extra for the early hour, to have someone drop something off before anyone can awake.
Thus when the oldest member of the household finally did rise and go downstairs, he would find it dark with one exception. A strange ethereal glow that was coming from the kitchen.
Once there, he would find 61 cupcakes with black glittery icing and a single candle on each. All neatly set out on the kitchen table with a note which read:
Happy Birthday
- Obi-Wan
It's simple but that's how he did things.
The man himself didn't come back from his trip until that evening. Tired, but certainly not as much as Anakin was. Certainly not too tired to go grab his gift for Qui-Gon before seeking him out.
Sometime in the afternoon, Ezra aims his path to take him to the older Jedi's house. It could just be any other day, with nothing more on Ezra's mind than his next Jedi lesson, except this time the teen has something in his pocket and something like nervous energy in his steps that makes a few pebbles rise up an inch or two off the ground before they drop behind him. Which, you know, could be a problem, if he shows up with a significant tell like that.
So before Ezra knocks, he takes a moment to compose himself. Calm, a Jedi is calm. He breathes in deeply, then breathes out, runs a hand through his growing, shaggy hair. Almost long enough to tie it back now, not counting the little tuft he's already got bound behind his ear.
Once he's ready (and once the pebbles are all lying still), he raps politely on the front door.
Most of the time, Rey practices using the Force away from the house. A little on the *Hawk*, a lot in the woods, occasionally around the city. Rarely at home. There's too many questions she doesn't want to answer. For example, who her teacher is.
So when she drops part of the gadget she's been tinkering on, her first response is to hop down from her perch in one of the trees near the house and move to pick it up. But when her feet hit the ground, she pauses. No one is around—she takes a quick look just to make sure—so... shouldn't be any harm in a little more practice when nobody's looking, right? Rey holds out her hand and feels a surge of victorious delight when the piece flies obediently to her hand. She's getting good at this!
Unfortunately, she probably shouldn't have practiced at home. Rey forgot she lives with a ninja Jedi.
When Lune wandered into the kitchen earlier today, he noticed the cupcakes and was smart enough to put two and two together. There were only so many people who lived here who could be 61. He hadn't known it was Qui-Gon's birthday so he'd quickly scurried back into his room to come up with some sort of present, but on such short notice, he wasn't sure if he'd be able to make something fast enough. It didn't feel right not giving him something after everything he'd done for Lune, so Lune decided to duck out and do some quick shopping instead, looking for something the Jedi Master might like.
His eyes eventually landed on a pretty figurine of Sosyne. They were both aligned with that Arehtei and as long as you were feeling calm, the figurine would float around in the air almost like it was swimming. Deciding on that, he purchased the figurine and raced back home to give the gift to Qui-Gon, hoping he'd like it and hoping he hadn't gone out somewhere.
Usually Ezra times his visits so that they're during the day. He has his own place to sleep, after all, and it's pretty crowded in Qui-Gon's house whenever everyone is home. Tonight, though, it's... different. It's hard to pin down what it is, but it's bothering him, shifting from one restless thought to another as though searching for the one that aches most.
Meditation's been useless. And he can't release his emotions to the Force when he doesn't even know what they are. None of what he's learned as a Jedi is helping him here.
It's the thought of Jedi training that's brought him here tonight, partly in the vague hope that maybe there's something he can be taught to help calm his mind, but partly because part of him just wants to see Qui-Gon. He just hopes he's there, hopes he's still awake...
Qui-Gon? He doesn't want to wake the others if they're asleep, so he doesn't knock on the door. Instead, Ezra just uses the amulet to brush ever so lightly against Qui-Gon's mind.
[Krennic was feeling more at peace than he had since arriving here. He had slept well hugging his pillow that he had made himself- not exactly a work of art as one of his buildings in the government sector on Coruscant but far more satisfying in other ways.
He was in a good mood as he stepped out to do his errands but he paused as he saw a familiar face, holding out his arms. Normally he was not the type to hug but a surge of affection went through him as he reached out for Qui-Gon to pull him into a hug. ]
Ezra had been having weird dreams the past few days, leaving him vaguely unsettled until he could shake them away. It wasn't that they were bad dreams, just... They were dreams of a very different life, and they were so real.
Real enough to feel like memories, not dreams, and that was what was so unsettling, because they couldn't be real.
Get your head straight, Ezra, he tells himself firmly after trying to clear away the latest, lingering dream - a dream of begging on the streets as a little boy and getting a jogan from Qui-Gon. That didn't happen. Not like that. He's not even al- He cuts that thought off before it can finish. That one's not something he wants to be dwelling on when he's trying to have his Jedi lessons with Qui-Gon.
With a grimace, Ezra knocks on the door of Qui-Gon's house. Hopefully the lessons today will be just the distraction he needs to bring his mind back to down to earth.
[It doesn't take long for Leia to find out Qui-Gon is in the hospital, even if she hasn't quite found out why he's there in the first place. But why he's there isn't as important as him being there, and Leia feels obligated to visit to both express her well-wishes and to find out how he's doing first-hand.
Carrying a book she thinks Qui-Gon might enjoy (a book on the spiritual beliefs of some of the cities known here, since one can only meditate for so long without growing restless. Or at least, as far as Leia's experiences go), Leia makes to enter Qui-Gon's room. She remains near the door, just on the chance he'd rather her leave. She is dropping by unannounced, after all; he might prefer to be left alone, or could be expecting someone else.]
To think that he had been immobile for three weeks was a bit overwhelming. It turns out that he's missed quite a bit since he was out. Waking up to a wrecked house, his Padawan's Padawan disappearing, and then something about the big crystal in the sky getting stolen.
The latter part he hadn't really heard from Anakin but instead his fellow Enforcers when he checked in. His friend and housemate having not left his side during those three weeks. For all of Anakin's faults, his loyalty could not be questioned. Even if sometimes it was misplaced.
Getting back to normal was interesting to say the least. But Anakin was calming down rather nicely now that he had returned. Tending to his friend took priority, but there was someone else he needed to see as well.
Which found Obi-Wan on the road, riding an Eopie, heading back to the house he had lived in not too long ago. An Eopie calf also trotting along behind. Being led by and tied to its mother. However, about halfway there, Obi-Wan spotted a familiar figure in the distance and a familiar feeling in the Force.
[ When Qui-Gon wakes, he will find that his crystal is glowing! His emotion drops for the month of Octha have resonated with Empatheias' giant crystal, and a reaction has been formed.
By his feet, he will find a small bottle about 3 inches in height. Inside is a black liquid, and the bottle reads "Flavour Spell". The instructions at the back of the bottle are as follows:
1) Shake bottle once to make flavour spicy 2) Shake bottle twice to make flavour sweet 3) Shake bottle thrice to make flavour bitter 4) One drop will make your food taste better!

[Qui-Gon may not have received a "Christmas isn't a thing in space, but I'm happy to show appreciation to those I care for" gift last year, given that Leia's opinion of him wasn't the greatest then, but this year he absolutely does get one.
Delivered to Qui-Gon, along with a note stating who the gift is from, is a warm wool hat, and a large assortment of different teas from each of the cities. Tea is something she knows Qui-Gon can use, and it's something even he can't mess up making. Probably.]
[ When Qui-Gon wakes, he will find that his crystal is glowing! His emotion drops for the month of Ennea have resonated with Empatheias' giant crystal, and a reaction has been formed.
He will also find that he cannot move his feet, as both ankles are tangled in some sort of rope. Once he's gotten out of the mess, he'll find that the rope is a whip! When the tip hits a living being (person, animal, tree???), they will get electrocuted.

[Qui-Gon will receive a handwritten note ("This entitles you to one sandwich from a restaurant on me. - Finn") and a small box containing this necklace.]
A shower and a chance to sleep have definitely improved a lot of things - though not necessarily Ezra's hair. Sleeping on wet hair might as well imbue it with the Force, the way parts of it are now defying gravity. Not that that's even registered in Ezra's mind yet.
Yawning, the boy's first thoughts on emerging from his room having aiming toward the kitchen and sitting down at the table, reaching for a piece of fruit. "G'morning, Master Jinn," he murmurs a little sleepily as soon as he sees Qui-Gon come in.
[When Qui-Gon wakes up on this particular morning, he's sure to notice a warm scent in the air of his favorite local tea brewing. Should he come to the kitchen to investigate the source, there's Ezra, already up and making breakfast. The kitchen itself feels as warm as the smell, reflecting emotions Ezra hasn't yet voiced, emotions that flutter with a little nervousness mixed in. Still, the boy will manage a smile as soon as he sees Qui-Gon.]
