A key part of building a lightsaber is the Initiate's journey to find a kyber crystal. We can see about using the amulet crystals as a surrogate, but I cannot guarantee it will be a success.
However, if you are willing to try, I am, too. Perhaps for your birthday?
[Once he hears Qui-Gon, he hops down from the chair he was sitting in and runs out to see him, smiling in greeting.] I can really have my own lightsaber? [Honestly, he was half expecting to be told something like 'when you stop asking for one, then you'll be ready to have one'.]
[While he may not be told that exactly, there's still a 'but...' involved, evidenced by Qui-Gon's movements as he raises a hand in the universal 'slow your roll' gesture.]
A lightsaber is a great responsibility, Lune. While I am not against the idea of you constructing your own, there is a lot to consider before taking those first steps.
[He unclasps his own lightsaber's hilt and bends to Lune's level so the boy can have a better look at it.]
This weapon is everything to me and has been for decades. It becomes a part of you. It is a signal to all those around you that you are willing to help... and ready to fight. Potentially to the death.
[Lune nods solemnly, his expression very serious.] It's not a weapon; it's an extension of yourself to be used for helping to keep the peace only, and only to be used when there are no other options left. [At least, that's what Garen Muln had told him.]
[Qui-Gon sighs heavily. He's sure that Lune understands the meaning behind the words he's just spoken, but the gravity thereof is hard to truly comprehend until one is thrust into that situation.]
[It's an experience that Qui-Gon wouldn't want Lune to find himself in, but would want him to be prepared to handle both physically and philosophically.]
Very good.
Let's go sit at the table. I want to show you the components of my lightsaber.
[His solemn expression changes into a more relaxed one and he nods again before hopping up onto a chair to watch attentively but also with genuine curiosity.]
[Qui-Gon takes his time with heading to the table, finally sitting down after a few moments. He sets his lightsaber on the table top and, without another word, begins to take it apart. It doesn't take long, but Qui-Gon's intense concentration does make the silence feel longer than it actually is.]
[Soon enough, everything from his weapon's outer case to the small crystal lays bare before the two. His gaze shifts to Lune, ready to answer any questions.]
[Lune watches wordlessly, committing every little detail to memory. Once it's all taken apart, he examines everything silently at least a couple of times, noting what things are and how it all fits together. Once he's confident he'll remember, he looks back up at Qui-Gon.] Do you think they'll have all the pieces here I'd need to make one...? [Or at least materials he can make them out of himself.]
I doubt that there will be lightsaber components here, although I'm sure we can find substitutes.
[After all, each lightsaber was as unique as the Jedi who carried it. It's impossible for all of them to have been built using the same exact materials.]
Once you complete some basic training, we'll look around.
[He nods again at that, not deterred by the challenge there might be at finding what he would need to put one together.] Thank you for helping me with this, Master Qui-Gon. [He uses the title respectfully to help show his gratitude.]
[Qui-Gon sits back in his chair and gazes down at his deconstructed saber, stroking his chin in thought.]
[This was another way to ensure the continuation of the Jedi, but he was still reluctant in taking these steps. It isn't like they have enemies here in Verens or that the acquisition of a lightsaber would paint a target on Lune's back. So why?]
[Maybe he doesn't want another repeat of Anakin, where his reckless eagerness may have sown the seeds of galactic destruction. His uncertainty is overriding his instinct, and that isn't exactly the most comfortable place to reside.]
[Qui-Gon sighs.]
...I'll put this back together. In the meantime, prepare for some drills.

[Such a good kid, Lune!]
[Qui-Gon makes his way back to the house--thankfully he hadn't gone too far--and calls Lune's name the moment he enters.]
