[Qui-Gon had a habit of always being early when it came to meetings, yet between Luke and Leia, he's found that his tendencies are being quickly outmatched. Not in a bad way, either. The pattern's shown that the twins are eager and willing to learn and explore more about their surroundings and that they aren't afraid to express that eagerness.]

[It's a nice change of pace from the older Jedi Qui-Gon's had to work with, and reminiscent of the young Padawans he's dedicated so much of his life training and raising.]

[He accompanies his greeting with a quick dip of his head and a smile on his face.]

Master Jinn!

[ A little too eager and beaming with that smile on his face, Luke gives a wave to Qui-Gon as he approaches... giving a brief nod of his own head then after. Need to be polite after all. ]

Not at all. I haven't really been here long.

[ A beat. ]

What did you want to work on first?

[Qui-Gon reaches out and places a friendly hand on Luke’s shoulder and grips it tightly.]

We’ll get to that in a moment, I promise.

[He feels like the reassurance is needed, what with how excited and eager Luke is to get to their lessons.]

Let’s talk for a moment. I’d like to get a better idea of where you are in your training and where you’d left off with Master Yoda.

[Knowing how the venerable Jedi worked, Luke’s training thus far must be anything but orthodox—and that’s fine. Better than fine, actually. It’s what the Jedi need: a good shot in the arm and a wake up call to open themselves to change and all it can offer.]

[ Do you see the slight pout Luke has over this, Qui-Gon? It's faint and he's doing his best to try and hide it but oh, it's there. ]

My training with Master Yoda?

[ Boy, where to start there... ]

Well, I don't know if you'd really call it training in the traditional sense. [ Though he smiles a little to Qui-Gon. ] He had me carrying him around on his back and levitate rocks in all sorts of different positions... mostly upside-down.

[ Crossing his arms, he gives a rather thoughtful look. ]

He didn't really go into much about the dark side of the Force, just that it's pretty strong and to be careful about using anger in battle.

[ Looking to Qui-Gon, he frowns a little. ]

Somehow I get the feeling talking in riddles was a thing of his.

[Qui-Gon raises his eyebrows at Luke's comment about Yoda's riddles.]

Your feelings would be correct.

[Despite the quip, his response is full of love and respect for the tiny Jedi Master and his unconventional training methods.]

From what I can tell, the majority of your training centered around physical and mental conditioning.

[What he doesn't mention is that Luke is playing a lot of catch up--the majority of his tasks are given to and mastered by Initiates in the Jedi Temple at a very young age.]

[It's hardly the young man's fault, though. And his skills may not be entirely reliant on prior training, anyway. It certainly wasn't the case when Luke had been here before... although he'd had more training under his belt by then.]

[Maybe there's a more practical way of assessing Luke's skills outside of Qui-Gon's simple and biased conjecture.]

Could I ask for a demonstration? There are plenty of rocks nearby.
