hadthehighground: (goodbye)

It was moments like these that Obi-Wan cherished in this world. Knowing the pain and desolation that faced him in the future, which tended to follow here sometimes, he took every happy moment he could get. Whether or not he would remember any of this when he returned home, he didn't know. But he was living in the moment, and such worries wouldn't bother him. Or any other for that matter. For now.

Obi-Wan watched curiously as his master experimented with the chimes as well. A delighted smile flickering across his face again as he watched the crystals change. Knowing exactly what emotion he was using there. There were so many times in his youth when he wanted no more than to please his teacher. He was glad he could do this for him.

"I thought you might," Obi-Wan said with a light laugh of his own. The crystals nearest him taking on a pink hue again and changing the pitch which caused them to harmonize with the green ones.

"Again, Happy Birthday Master."

The fact that he got to spend another year with the man who raised and mentored him made all his time in this world worth it.
