[Qui-Gon raises his eyebrows at Luke's comment about Yoda's riddles.]

Your feelings would be correct.

[Despite the quip, his response is full of love and respect for the tiny Jedi Master and his unconventional training methods.]

From what I can tell, the majority of your training centered around physical and mental conditioning.

[What he doesn't mention is that Luke is playing a lot of catch up--the majority of his tasks are given to and mastered by Initiates in the Jedi Temple at a very young age.]

[It's hardly the young man's fault, though. And his skills may not be entirely reliant on prior training, anyway. It certainly wasn't the case when Luke had been here before... although he'd had more training under his belt by then.]

[Maybe there's a more practical way of assessing Luke's skills outside of Qui-Gon's simple and biased conjecture.]


Could I ask for a demonstration? There are plenty of rocks nearby.
